Ayder, Turkey


   


Ayder is a resort town in Eastern Karadeniz region of Turkey, In the Black Sea Region and you have access to Spas on the Georgian side of the border too. Up in the lush Kaçkar Mountains, surrounded by waterfalls. with its wooden chalets and wandering cows, can seem like a piece of Switzerland transported to Turkey.




Historically, the village was a small, remote mountain town. As the region became more developed in the Republican era, the city grew to a tourist attraction because of its natural hot springs.












Ayder is famous for its thermal springs, world famous Anzer honey and trekking routes. The area around the Ayder highland village used for trekking to the Kaçkar mountains














It is in one of the cleanest and traditionally hospitable parts of Turkey. In the Black Sea Region and you have access to Spas on the Georgian side of the border too.

 















Be sure to try the local bakeries, as the town is particularly famous for its bakers. Most hotels offer half board rates.















Ayder has a grassy main square that during the summer frequently plays host to festivals celebrating local Hemsin culture..

Despite the summertime crowds that can sometimes fill the small village to capacity, the setting remains magnificent and the nights, when the stars put on a glorious show in the sky above, are still marvelously quiet.
